… to my personal homepage, which is all about experience-based IT.
My guiding principle is: “From IT. Not from theory.” As the person behind this website, I would like to give you a brief insight into who writes here and what drives me. My name is Christoph Hermanns.
The world of IT has been with me for many years – both professionally and privately. With a degree in Computer Science (Diplom-Informatiker, RWTH Aachen) and a doctorate in Economics (Dr. rer. pol.), my day-to-day work constantly places me at the interface between technical challenges and strategic decisions.
Right now, I am …
… Head of IT and AI Officer @ factur.de // In this role, I am responsible for the IT landscape and serve as a certified AI Officer for our company in the utility market.
… IT & AI Enthusiast @ cherware.de // My #reflectIT blog stems from a simple insight: In the fast-paced world of IT, we rarely pause to reflect on lessons learned. I realized this lack of discipline had reawakened my old passion for methodical work: I truly enjoy researching fascinating topics and documenting the findings. This blog is now my dedicated space for exactly that reflection and exploration of a range of selected topics:
- As a personal archive for solutions, research findings, and thought processes.
- As a structured documentation of topics like IT governance, system architecture, and agentic AI.
- As a platform to share experiences and discoveries that could help others.
- As a place where I myself gain new insights through writing and research.
… Architect and Developer @ GitHub // To live up to my motto “Not from theory,” I translate concepts into functional code. Instead of sticking to dry theory, I actively engineer my own architectural solutions and AI processes:
- Lutions (My development environment for agentic AI): A modular system for collaborative defect and requirements tracking, which I intensively use as an experimental space for agentic software development (cf. read this).
- LiteBI Studio: An open-source business intelligence web application I developed, utilizing SQLite WASM for serverless data auditing (cf. Info on my download page).
